Nikolay Levin

Born December, 19th 1958 in Kirovsk region.

Started his professional life in 1978 after graduating River College in Gor'ky (now - Tver'). First - as a motorman of White Sea port, later - responsible for the ship radio stations, planning engineer of White Sea port. In October 1984 elected as a Chairman of the trade union of the seaport.

Iin 1990 graduated Moscow High School of Trade union Movement (majoring in labor economy), in 1999 graduated North-West Academy of Civil Service (majoring in state and municipal governance). PhD in economy.

Late 1980-s started his carreer in Belomorsk district Party Comiittee:

1988 instructor at Department of industry and transport, deputy head of administrative devision,

1990 Chairman of Council of People's Deputies of Belomorsk,

1991 Secretary of Belomorsk Party Committee

1991 deputy director of Agro-industrial Bank in Belomorsk

1995 Mayor of Belomorsk

2000 Chairman of the Chamber of representatives of the Legislative Assembly of Karelia. Member of the Council of Federation of the Russian parliament.

2002 Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Karelia

July, 5th 2009 elected as a Mayor of Petrozavodsk.

Married, has two children.
